Hugh Priestley was educated at Winchester College and Worcester College, Oxford (Scholar). He has worked at The Times Newspaper from 1964-66; for Henderson Administration, from1966-93; and for Rathbones, from 1993-2005. As an investment manager, he managed various investment trusts including Witan, one of the largest. Currently, Hugh is Chairman of Jupiter European Opportunities Trust.
He is involved in several charities and member of three investment committees including Independent Age and SAUL (a London University pension fund). Married with two children, Hugh's main hobby is watching share prices go up and down.
