Hamish Bryce has been Chairman of Independent Age since May 2006.

He is a non-executive director of Henderson Opportunities Trust plc. Until 1998 he was chairman of Thorn Lighting Group plc. Since then he has held a range of non-executive roles including chairman of Norcross plc and Heywood Williams plc.

In a voluntary capacity Mr Bryce was, until March 2007, Chairman of the Business Group of the London Resilience Forum which leads emergency planning in London. He has also been a Vice Chairman of London First, Chairman of Design Partners, and a Member of the Design Council and the Department for Education and Skills Post-16 Business Champions Group.
