Lynne and Julian have been performing saxophone and piano duets for many years. Recently they were invited back to play in Fairbanks, Alaska and also to perform as special guests for the Sitka Summer Music Festival. On this occasion they will play works by George Gershwin, John Williams, George Bizet, Louis Mayeur and others.
Lynne is a highly regarded saxophonist, having performed as a soloist with various orchestras in Canada, Alaska and the USA. As a woodwind specialist she plays all five woodwinds and has taught at the Universities of Victoria, Western Washington, Alaska and Kwantlen College. She is a member of a saxophone quartet and has researched the life of Louis Mayeur, discovering many of his works for saxophone which she is now recording and publishing.
Julian has been playing the piano for as long as he can remember. He is a versatile musician, playing the organ in church, singing in choirs and directing community musical productions. He gets his greatest joy from accompanying other musicians both in solo performances and in chamber groups.
