We staged our first ever stock market challenge at the headquarters of ABN Amro, London, in 2007. Seventeen teams of six experienced the adrenalin rush of being a City trader as they competed with others in a live stock market simulation.

Andy Hall from winning team, Merrill Lynch, said: ‘We turned up not knowing what to expect but after it was explained and the trading kicked off, we were raring to go. You really get into your role with newspapers, news footage and frequent market updates.

'Trading in the pit was great fun. We were all holding our breath in anticipation to see how our portfolio had done. A great way to enjoy a work night out and benefit a noble charity. We have already set the date to defend our title next year!’
