Support Independent Age
Your donation will help older people who are coping with heartbreaking situations such as isolation and loneliness, painful illnesses that affect mobility, or the inability to afford basic human needs, such as nutrition, clothing and shelter.
By donating today you will be helping us give an older person the support of a caring community for the rest of their life, through which they can access emotional, practical, and financial support.
By making a donation you will be providing urgent support for an older person in need.
£10 will buy a large-buttoned phone, to enable an older person who is visually impaired to stay in touch
£20 will pay for a grab rail to make stairs safe to use for a frail older person
£50 will help pay for repairs to essential equipment like a boiler or cooker
£80-£100 pays for the yearly rental of a lifeline alarm for peace of mind in case of a fall

Leaving a gift to Independent Age in your will
We rely on the kind and thoughtful donations that are left by our supporters in their wills. Leaving a donation to Independent Age in your will is a great way of helping older people in need for generations to come, so please do consider helping in this way.
If you would like more information please, click here to download our legacy brochure in PDF format. Alternatively, please email supporters@independentage.org.uk or call 020 7605 4290.
Donations in lieu of presents
Donations in lieu of birthday or anniversary presents allow you to mark a memorable occasion whilst helping people less fortunate than yourself. We greatly appreciate the generosity of those who choose to give in this way.
Gifts in memory of a loved one
A gift in memory could be a straightforward donation to Independent Age or it could be a donation instead of floral tributes for the funeral. For example, you could request flowers from family only, and ask others to make a donation to Independent Age instead. We can provide donation envelopes for you to give to your guests at the funeral so that it is a quick and simple process; just email supporters@independentage.org.uk and ask for donation envelopes to use.
You may also like to set up a personalised page ‘in memory’ on Justgiving. It is easy to do, and the link can easily be emailed to friends and family, or added to your Facebook page.
Letters of thanks
We think our supporters are amazing, and so do the older people we help. I hope you enjoy reading some letters of thanks below, that we receive every day from our members:
“I spent many years ‘existing’ rather than ‘living’. Old age brought painful and disabling illnesses to me making simple everyday tasks, like getting up and down the stairs, almost impossible. Thankfully, Independent Age now gives me the support I need. Independent Age has helped me financially, emotionally and practically, and I appreciate their swift and unobtrusive manner. Their support has enabled me to pursue life with renewed faith and hope. I am so grateful for all that Independent Age has done for me.” Alfred, 87
“It’s a charity, but it feels more like a family.” Ruby, 85
“For the first time in 21 years I feel like someone cares about me.” Sandy, 91
“With the support of the Independent Age community I have been able to face challenges I could never have overcome alone.” Peter, 78
