Statement on the concessionary bus travel bill

Independent Age welcomes the Concessionary Bus Travel Bill’s extension of free bus travel across England and Wales for those over 60 as this will promote greater mobility and independence for older people. However for the bill to really impact on the lives of older people, other transport issues must be addressed, such as the safety, reliability, accessibility, availability and frequency of transport.
