Philosophy of care

At Abercorn House, we aim to provide a homely, cheerful environment. Each resident is given the individual care required to achieve the highest possible quality of life, physically, mentally and spiritually.

Our experienced Matron leads a team of friendly and dedicated staff who work hard to uphold Independent Age's principles of dignity and personal freedom.

Entering Abercorn House does not mean giving up interests or losing precious independence. There is a dedicated activities programme and residents are encouraged to participate in social activities both in the home and the local community.

'I was overjoyed when my cousin was admitted to Abercorn House. The kindness and care she receives is the very best she could have. I enjoy my visits to the home with its marvellous atmosphere and friendliness.' Mrs B.
