Philosophy of care

Our aim at Randell House is to provide a homely and cheerful environment. Each resident is given the individual care required to achieve the highest possible quality of life, physically, mentally and spiritually.

Our experienced Head of Home leads a team of friendly and dedicated staff who work hard to uphold Independent Age's principles of dignity and personal freedom for each resident.

'My mother mentioned how kind and caring the staff at Randell House are and on my visits I can see this for myself.' Mrs C M

Entering Randell House does not mean giving up interests or losing precious independence. As well as a dedicated activites programme, residents are encouraged to participate in social activities both in the home and the local community.

Our Royal Patron, Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra, visited Randell House in July 2004, where she spent time meeting residents and staff.

Randell House receives a three-star rating from CSCI

Following an unannounced inspection by CSCI (Commission for Social Care Inspection), one of Independent Age’s residential homes, Randell House, received a three-star rating.  CSCI said the home’s residents receive an excellent service from the matron and her team.

They commended the home on its assessment and care planning processes, its menus, choice of food and the excellent working relationships they have with families and residents friends.

It also noted the good social activates the home provides and added that the residents and families were confident that any complaints or concerns would be acted upon.  CSCI was also impressed with the improved training staff are being offered.
