Volunteer for us

Could you spare some time to visit an older person?

Many older people are isolated and forced to cope alone with no-one to turn to for company and support. Our volunteer visitors provide a source of friendship which is valued just as highly as the financial help we give.

How you can help

  • By visiting local Independent Age beneficiaries a few times a year.
  • By providing a friendly voice on the telephone.
  • By raising awareness locally of the help Independent Age offers.
  • By helping with vital fundraising events.

Just a few hours a month makes all the difference

You will be supported by a local Independent Age representative and meet up with other volunteers in your area from time to time. For more information, email our Regional Development Manager, Madeleine Jones with the following details about yourself: name, address, telelphone number, your level of mobility and the types of transport you have available to you.  You can also telephone 020 7605 4200.

'There's plenty of laughter and the most important thing is to be there as a friend.' Mrs Karen Collins, volunteer in Basingstoke
